Tightrope Elephants

This a logo idea for the improv group I am part of. It feels so nice to crank something out purely in pencil once in a while!

Improved Webisode Poster

This poster feature the three main characters of the show: Ethan, the kid with the book, Dumkin, the puppet, and Moon Head, the shadow.

The Occupational Dreamer

I am currently developing a Webisode series called "The Occupational Dreamer". The premise is: "What if a puppet came to life to help its struggling creator pay the rent?"

Putting Story into Figure Drawing

In these drawings I took a different approach to figure drawing that focused on interpreting the pose in the context of a story. I heard Alex Woo, a gesture drawing teacher at Pixar, call it extrapolation. It's way more fun than trying to do some pretty rendering (*but that's probably cause I suck at rendering). See if you can guess the story I was thinking...

Another Birthday, Another Caricature

There's a funny face my brother Max makes and he calls it the flying squirrel so I decided to take the interpretation a bit further. Max also likes money. Done with pen, sharpie, and watercolor.

Super Max

This was a birthday present for my buddy Max who turned 23 yesterday. Pose referenced from Max Fleischer's old superman cartoon.

Cluny Chronicles Chp. 3

I gave the pose in the 3rd panel a better silhouette to improve readability. Much better!

Hirschfeld Attempt

I am a big fan of Al Hirschfeld so I attempted to emulate his style. He uses big, simple shapes, rhythmic lines, and quality of line galore! He also contrasts the simplicity of his big shapes with intricate hair stokes.

Dr. Sketchy's and Others

I attended a Dr. Sketchy's figuring drawing session at Titmouse on Tuesday and had a blast! The models were all newbies so it kept things fresh. They started in full costume and removed clothing as the night progressed. Saucy!
